Scammers Are Posing As Department Members, Trumbull FD Warns

The Long Hill Fire Department is warning residents not to fall for a phone scam calling residents asking for donations.

"Just this morning, (Jan. 2, 2019) we have become aware that a group of scammers are again actively calling Trumbull residents posing as our department asking for donations.," the department said on Facebook.

The department said they are not making these calls and for residents to ignore them.

Last year, it was reported that many times the caller ID displayed "VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS" or "FIRST RESPONDERS"; this too has again been confirmed.

"Please do not donate to these criminals," they said. "This is NOT any of the three volunteer fire departments in Trumbull!"
